Although 2/3 and 3/3 share the same lyrics (for the most part), I’ve decided to split the two up­­ into the vocally spoken “real” side and the lyrically written “game” side.
The vocally spoken lyrics are all about dreams, and generally don’t use game terminology, while the written lyrics do. Normally, I find a way to merge spoken and written lyrics, but in this case, it would be a mess to try and fit everything into one, so here we are.

2/3 is what I call the “real” side. Be sure to also check out 3/3 for the full experience.

The one saving grace of this song is that it’s short, so I did it anyways, just for completion’s sake. I’d like to think it turned out alright, but I’ll throw a quality disclaimer on anyways, since I am no classical Japanese expert.

Perhaps more speaker switches than any other song I’ve ever heard before.

I’m heavily considering skipping 地霊 「幻想郷縁起　封ジラレシ妖怪達之頁」, as it uses the most difficult (read: archaic) grammar yet. A translation would be almost entirely based off instinct learned from modern grammar, so I’m very hesitant in dealing with it.

Notes: ― at the beginning of a line indicates speech from a character.
In the 10th stanza, “tonight” is read as “this morning.” From my interpretation, the speaker is reminiscing about the one they love back on the moon. Now think: as night falls on earth, it becomes morning on the moon, doesn’t it? This is how I explain it, at least.

―hisaku to wa nani ka. katsu tame ni tsune ni teki o shiri onore o shiru koto.

―What’s the secret plan? It’s all about constantly learning about your foe and yourself to win.
So you say, but why are you just wasting the time sleeping?

偽りの月が昇る。

Like that, again, in the autumn sky
the false moon rises.

Tonight is the night, under the moonlight.

蛍を追え、夜雀を追え！
全てはこの大儀の為すがまま。

Everything is as this dire situation makes.

仮初の永遠は、続くのか？
その彼方、向かって―。

karisome no eien wa, tsudzuku no ka?

Will this short-lived eternity continue?

どこか胸が騒ぐこんな夜は、歴史の影に身を潜め。
光る竹の一つになった方は、次の夜をただ待っている。

―dareshimo himitsu no hitotsu ya futatsu kossori kakaeteiru mono deshou?
watashi no zuru yasumi no koto wa dare mo shiranai.

―Everyone has one or two secrets that they bear in private don’t they?
Nobody knows about how I went absent without official leave.

―主に先駆けて眠ることなど、仕える者にあるまじきこと。
けれど今朝は床を並べて共に眠れればと…

―aruji ni sakigakete nemuru koto nado, tsukaeru mono ni arumajiki koto.

―Sleeping before your master and such, how disgraceful for a servant.
But it’d be nice to be able to sleep together with our beds lined up tonight, or rather, this morning.

Like that, again, in the autumn sky
the false moon rises.

What is the moon rabbit looking up at?

永遠の、咎人が。
その秘密を隠して立っている。

A once witnessed folklore legend.
If it isn’t the bamboo princess.

さあ元凶を、打ち倒せ！
けして解かれぬ難題を解き明かせ！
