I decided it’s about time I give this album a listen today, I’ve also got plans for ORIGAMI from it. I was a little confused about the meaning of “period” at first, but given that the lyrics speaks of the world being upside down etc, I think it means “time period,” if anyone else thought it was a little vague.

Phew, the translation was the easy part of this one, but getting all the kanji transcribed took a while. I had a lot of trouble figuring out some of them. I guess that’s what I get for putting off my studies. According to the dictionary, Okesabushi is a style of Japanese folk song associated with the Niigata prefecture. This’ll probably be the last song from this album I do.

Request by Primity. Looks like I couldn’t sleep until I did at least a little bit more editing to this.  Today was supposed to be a day to catch up on my to-do list, but I ended up doing nothing on it. ＿|￣|○

Notes: During the line “もうそれしか聞こえないとナイテタ,” due to “naiteta” being in katakana, it’s a vague meaning. It could mean “cried” or “sang.” It could be interpreted either as the person being driven mad by the song crying that they can’t hear anything but it anymore, or the meaning I currently have in place. I chose this because the rest of the stanza also comes from the perspective of the singer.

I think I went in a bit over my head here with this one, so many new words.. Usually in song translations I only come across a small handful. The Mamizou arrange in this album looks like it’s going to be tough too.

Notes: The pororoca is a tidal bore, with waves up to 4 metres high that travel as much as 800 km inland upstream on the Amazon River and adjacent rivers.
